SIT4ME project workshop reviewed, discussed and analyzed cutting edge technologies in mineral exploration

The demand for mineral resources to meet current societal needs has been steadily increasing over last years. Mineral exploration, the first step of the raw materials cycle, is facing a great challenge because the shallow and easily accessible mineral deposits have already been mined. The industry now needs access to deeper and more complex mineral systems. To address this challenge, more efficient, effective and sustainable exploration tools are needed. The SIT4ME project team organized a workshop aimed to showcase and discuss a broad view of the new approaches in the mineral exploration world.

New working meeting to get ready for the project last year

Representatives from all four partners of SIT4ME project met together via video-conference last 23rd June for the working meeting devoted to prepare the last year of the project. Ramon Carbonell (PI), Irene DeFelipe and Juan Alcalde, from ICTJA-CSIC; Alireza Malehmir, from Uppsala University, Stefan Buske, from TUBAF, and Dirk Orlowsky gathered online to update the progress of the project and to plan the next activities. SIT4ME first annual meeting

The first annual meeting of SIT4ME project was held at the EIT Raw Materials Headquarters in Berlin on the 7th & 8th of February. Seven representatives of the four project partners gathered in Berlin to evaluate and discuss the progress of the project, which started just one year ago. The project is now facing its second year of activity. The attendees were members of DMT Group, TUBAF, University of Salamanca, the University of Uppsala and ICTJA-CSIC.
